Technical Questions / Requirements for PurpleHealth Video-Chat service

A: If you are sure that there are no system issues on your side, that you have a proper internet connection and so do the doctors that you are speaking with, you may have a conflict with multiple microphones or video-cameras. Please check your settings in the Chrome Browser.

A: PurpleHealth is a telemedicine platform that faciliates communication between patients and doctors, locally and globally.

A: Generally you can only be prescribed medicine by doctors in your home country and likely by only those in your home state or province, depending on your location. Should you speak with a doctor in another medical jurisdiction or country, that doctor can only give advice. In addition, different jurisdictions have different rules and laws about online prescriptions, even if they are in your country, state or province. In general, assume that doctors can’t provide prescriptions to you online unless you are an existing patient in the same medical jurisdiction.

A: PurpleHealth currently allows approved heathcare providers and hospitals to sign up and we have qualification requirements for the doctors that are on the platform.

PurpleHealth believes that there are great healthcare organizations and medical institutions around the world who have talented doctors who have relevant experience and information that can be useful to people wherever they are. We will soon add the ability to share medical records in the near future.

A: Registration is currently free and certain functionality such as the Doctor search and hospital directory are free to use. Doctors may charge for their advice when communicating with them but before any charges incur, you will have the choice of proceeding.

A: No. PurpleHealth is not an insurance company or Health Maintenance Organization (HMO), but there may be healthcare organizations who do accept your insurance or coverage plan. The circumstances will vary on a case by case basis.

A: Yes, you need to register with PurpleHealth.com in order to have video chat with a doctor.

No, you need to provide your basic information needed in user registration.

A: If you wish to have video chat with a doctor you will have to register with us, and purchase talk time. At that time you will have to provide your credit card/debit card information.

A: PurpleHealth takes your privacy very seriously. We use reputable 3rd party providers which are authorized to collect such information and who have the requisite licenses to do so. We do not store your credit card information, and do not have access to it.

A: No, your credit card will not be automatically charged.

No, you do not need to provide credit card info or make payment to the doctor when having a video consultation.

A: The doctor might be busy with some other emergency, if the doctor is not appearing for the scheduled appointment time. You will not be charged any time time spent.

A: No, Your minutes only start to get deducted once the doctor logs in you start chatting.

A: Yes, you need to have at least Rs.500 balance to start a video consultation for the first time.

A: Yes, you can click on Request Appointment, and request a video appointment.

A: This depends on the jurisdiction that you and the doctor are in. Generally in cross border consults, doctors don’t have medical jurisdiction and pharmacies are not allowed to accept prescriptions. Even within a country or a state, there may be rules that don’t allow online prescriptions. You will have to check the laws of your country. It is expected that the doctor that you speak with will also follow all applicable laws.

We follow a strict registration process with doctors who sign up. We ask for copies of medical licensing information and other pertinent information. In addition, the majority of our doctors are signed up through hospitals themselves, who have their own verification.

A: Yes, you will receive an email reminder about your appointment one day in advance.

A: Currently we only have doctors based inside of India, but we will soon have doctors outside of India.

A: No, PurpleHealth does not monitor/store/share or have access to the video consultation sessions you have with your doctor.
