Week 21 Pregnancy

GROWTH OF THE BABY: The cherub is about 10.5 inches in size, about the length of carrot. The twisting and turning inside your belly have changed into full-fledged kicks. The movements are so pronounced that you may draw a pattern. The baby is undergoing rapid development. The baby is gaining pounds from the nutrition that you are taking with your increased diet. Since the baby is more responsive to sounds, you may start talking to your belly and deepen your connection. The baby weighs about 360 grams. The eyebrows and eyelids have begun to form and soon the baby would start blinking in an adorable manner. What you eat is what your baby tastes. The taste buds have formed and can actually sense the taste of food.

Steer clear from oral medications unless prescribed by the doctor.
Varicose veins is another common symptom during pregnancy. In this condition, your veins tend to bulge and get swollen due to high levels of progesterone in your blood. Exercise may help in appease the situation. Don’t keep your legs on the ground for a longer time.

PURPLE HEALTH RECOMMENDS: Dr. Purple suggests you to enjoy this phase. Take longer showers and longer naps. Forgetfulness is a common side effect of pregnancy. Don’t be shy to look demented. Leave sticky notes all over so that you don’t miss out on important things. Use bath oils and feel good stuff to keep your senses pleased. Rub natural massage oil on your belly. It might sound like advice straight out of grandma’s books but it sure feels good.
